About us

The Nagaland PWD (Housing) Department is responsible for the Planning, Design, Construction and Maintenance of all Government  buildings (other than the Police Department) which include public buildings like Government offices, Hospitals, School & College buildings, Training Institutes, Museums, Stadiums, accommodations for Government employees, Stores & Godowns etc. The Department also undertakes construction and repair works of buildings for Central Government and Semi-Government Departments in the State.

 

Vision Statement

Manage and provide sustainable, safe, economical, durable Government buildings and accommodation. Device and implement housing and land policies.

The Department is headed by a Chief Engineer, who is the overall in-charge of the Department. He is assisted by an Addl. Chief Engineer who co-ordinates with 2(two) Circles headed by a Superintending Engineer each.

  1. Superintending Engineer PWD (Housing) Circle- I is in-charge of 7(seven) Housing Divisions that function directly under the Administrative and budgetary control of the Chief Engineer, PWD (Housing) and
  2. Superintending Engineer PWD (Housing) Circle- II is in-charge of 17(Seventeen) Engineering Divisions and Wings under other State Government Departments. These 17(Seventeen) Engineering Divisions and Wings also come under the Technical control of the Chief Engineer, PWD (Housing). However, budgetary control rests with the respective Departments.

The Chief Engineer is also assisted by a Superintending Engineer (Design), who supervises 2(two) Executive Engineers dealing with design and technical estimates of the Department.
